The Perth Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine (POSM) Research Institute is a not for profit organisation that has been set up to support them in this work.
Our orthopaedic surgeons are currently involved in a number of clinical trials at the POSM Research Institute. They’re supported by laboratory technicians, statisticians, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, orthopaedic surgery trainees and sub-specialty training fellows. The trainees come from Perth, interstate and overseas.
The Institute delivers education on a number of different levels including in-house training of local and international fellows, as well as Western Australian orthopaedic trainees. It also delivers educational seminars to a range of health and allied health professionals.
While most of our researchers give their time for free, some technical expertise must be outsourced. This includes statistical analysis, expert physiotherapy and the interpretation of scans and investigations.
Your donation can help cover the costs for patients enrolled in studies, in particular for imaging, laboratory investigations and gait-lab analysis.
All donations over $2 are tax deductible.
